Why do we burn our home?

Hello, my name is Addison.

I am only eleven years old, but my mind is well beyond my years. Not because that was how I was raised, but that is how it has to be.

I have grown up in a pandemic, a war, and a nightmare.

Although I know a lot already (considering my average grades) but there is one thing I still don’t know that has been confusing me for years…

Why do we burn our home?

We chop down our trees, our air source, leading to a suffocating death.

We kill all our animals, destroying the ecosystem throwing everything off balance, leading to a starving death.

We pollute and contaminate our water, making it so it can’t evaporate, leading a drought of a death.

Why do we burn our home?

As I am writing this, right now, right here, there is a war going on. An unnecessary, random war. Russia has invaded Ukraine. This war is against international law, but nobody wants to send their troops to step up to Russia, I can understand where they are coming from though. But anyways.

Why do we burn our home?

So if you think about it this way, that a conscious living thing would never seek to destroy its self. So if we ever had a conscience all, I’m sure we lost it hundreds of years ago. While all our ethnicities, religions, and appearances may be different. But our hopes, dreams, and species are the same.

So will be continue this war, destroying ourselves?

Or will we join to protect our home and our human race?

 is yours.

As my favorite quote says,

“Everything will be okay in the end, if it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
