Danielle, Age 16
Once upon a time,
there were two young girls. The first one’s name (and still is) Danielle.
Danielle is a ravishing creature with blond, flowing, naturally curly hair
Unlike most blonds who possess blue eyes, Danielle has intelligent, warm,
sensitive brown eyes. Even though she is very pretty, Danielle’s main pride is
her IQ. Danielle’s friend, Jan, who has a similar IQ,Is unfortunately in a
regular chemistry class where she is able to catch up on her last night’s sleep.
Danielle’s chemistry class; however, is AP so she has her intellect stimulated
on a daily basis by Mr. “G”, South Pasadena Hi’s resident slave driver and
teenage suicide expert.
The tide evens out,
however. Because while Jan is in AP History, Danielle is stuck in bonehead History
with all of the rejected seniors who couldn’t pass it the first time so they
have to take it again or they won’t be able to graduate. Both Danielle and Jan
are fortunate enough to be able to study Advanced Algebra Honors under the
excellent tutelage of Mr. “U” Cal Tech graduate extraordinaire.
If there is one word
that sums up their lives it is Melba. Don’t you think melba toast sucks? Even the
name is stupid. Melba!!! Where in the hell did they come up with that name
anyway It seems that they put a bunch of letters together and that is what they
got. Jan likes melba toast so I guess I’ll have to put up with it but I think
melba toast is a public disgrace. To think of all of the progress we have made
from caves to condos, from raw meat to Burger King’s flame broiled Whopper and
there are still people who insist on eating melba toast. Melba. Isn’t this just
the color for it or maybe green would be better.
Actually the person
who really turned me off to melba toast is my friend, Jen. I have to thank you,
Jen, for opening my eyes to the evils of melba toast. I think we should have
correctional facilities for those distressed beings who have to resort to
eating this menace to modern society. But I guess there are more pressing
concerns to be dealt with right now like the Federal deficit and world hunger
problems. Maybe we should ship all of our melba toast to Ethiopia . That would
kill two birds with one stone.
But all of this isn’t
getting my English report written. It’s due tomorrow. I’ve pretty much written it
though. It just needs to be re-copied Jan hasn’t started hers yet, though. The
bell is going to ring in a minute so I have to go now I guess you are real
upset. Oh well. Bye!!!!!
