Once there was a little girl who wanted to catch a butterfly. She ran and ran.
She jumped and leaped. But the butterfly always flew just out of reach.
(Page 2)
She grew tired. Her arms ached. She sat down by a still pond and sighed. “Why
won’t you stay?” she whispered.
(Page 3)
The pond had no ripples. It was calm and quiet. A dragonfly landed on a lily
pad. It did not chase. It just waited.
(Page 4)
The little girl watched. She stopped running. She stopped reaching. She just
breathed.
(Page 5)
Then something wonderful happened. The butterfly came back. It landed on her
shoulder. Not because she chased it. Because she was still.
(Page 6)
“Chasing pushes things away,” said the pond. “Alignment brings them close. When
you are still, you become a place where beautiful things want to rest.”
(Page 7)
The little girl thought about the boy she liked. She had been texting him too
much, waiting by the phone, making plans he never kept. She was chasing.
(Page 8)
She put her phone down. She went for a walk. She painted a picture. She did not
chase.
(Page 9)
A few days later, he called. “I miss you,” he said. She smiled. “I’ve been
right here,” she said. “You just noticed.”
(Page 10)
The same was true at work. She stopped begging for approval. She did her best
work and let it speak for itself. Opportunities came. Not because she chased
them. Because she was aligned.
(Page 11)
“Chasing is fear,” the pond whispered. “Alignment is trust. When you chase, you
tell the universe you don't believe it will come. When you align, you say, ‘I
am ready. I am here. I am enough.’”
(Page 12)
The little girl grew up. She never chased again. She built her garden. She
tended her heart. She sat by the still pond.

And the butterflies – they always came.
