No More
Binary (What does this mean?)
Nathan B. Spooner
Binary describes a
system in which
there are only two possible values for each digit:
0 or 1.
Binary code in computing
devices
is the basis for encoding/decoding systems. Among other uses, 1 refers
to a
flow of electricity, while 0 represents no flow of electricity.
Symbolically, you could
say the 1
represents the male gender and the 0 represents the female gender. This
is the
case for pretty much all reproductive creatures, animals, humans and so
forth.
I see photos of people
Holding up signs stating
“no more binary”.
Not sure what this means.
Does it mean that
the symbolic notations
for a single entity and
a single different entity
are the same?
So does “no more binary”
mean
that a one and a zero are
interchangeable?
So if a ‘1’ and a ‘0’
have equal significance,
then my owing you
$1,000.00 dollars,
does it not mean
I can the replace the
‘0’
In place of the ‘1’ and
I thus owe you 0,000,000
dollars?
Does it mean when
teaching in
elementary schools, that our numbering system no longer means what it
means?
Not sure I understand
the
intentions contained herein.
Language and cultures
constantly
change, interact and find various expressions to help understand
meaning,
intention and facilitate cognitive processes necessary for existence on
planet
earth.
I just don’t know what
the above “No
more binary” means.
