            From 'The Leaves of Gas'

                          By

I saw them at the gas pump --
Fall leaves, lying at my feet

The seasonal change of life
On the ground, shiny and neat

Artfully set inside glass
I see the random design

Upon further inspection
Water art makes leaves defined

Mother Nature presents us
a display of fall colors

We can never duplicate
Even in patchwork covers

 leaves
