To
keep basic walking, bending, stretching and daily activities without pain are
important. I have a lot to do every day so must keep any Arthritis and
Rheumatism crap away from me. I don’t give in to that pain. I have bone on bone
in a few areas, like knees….sounds ominous. Working out keeps me strong and fit
yet I have no plans to bungie jump over a river which ends 500 feet below the
bridge which would yank me back. And I’ve no plans to enter a motorcycle race,
mountain climb, or run a marathon.
I
have pain in my lower back, thanks to three car accidents through the years. I
have used CBD tincture with great success for pain relief for years.
Since
my husband experiences severe back pain after suffering several work accidents
and surviving multiple operations, I decide we both can benefit from CBD tincture.
My bottle was emptied about a year ago and I didn’t catch it. This liquid
doesn’t have dangerous chemicals added, and I always bought Organic. No GMOs. Simple, done deal.
I
make a trip to the local dispensary and decide to be brave. I add to my
purchase two kinds of gummies that claim to relieve pain and aid in sleep.
What’s
unknown to me is the addition of powerful
chemicals added to the new generation stuff. This weed is strong enough to
start a semi from a block away and remove spots from a cheetah. They don’t want
us to know what is included into the mixture of gummies, or edibles. That’s not
good. I wouldn’t recognize what the stuff is anyway.
So,
bravely and in need of pain relief, I choose to take one of the gummies with a
kick tonight. I think to myself, I’ll go to bed and relax, and do.
I
had two marijuana cigarettes way back, years ago when I was young, so know only
the old version of the strength of the weed.
I’m completely unaware of what’s coming.
In
four hours after taking ONE of the gummies I wake with a start. My heart is racing
101, 108, 96, 89, it’s all over the
place. I’m shaking as if I’m the machine making a smoothie, then eerily my
heart slows down but has wide gaps in between the beats and I begin to panic.
These must have been made to put me to sle
forever. That’s the one they proudly sold me with a kick to it. They smiled
at me as I bought it. I should have known it was foretelling my future .
I
have to get up to go to the bathroom and I’m stunned at feeling the weirdest
dizziness I’ve ever experienced. It is not anything I’ve had before. Never in
my life have I prepared for these horrible, unsettling feelings.
My
husband asks, “Are you OK?”
“No,
something is off.” I jabber something incoherent. My husband falls back to
sleep immediately. I must have sounded half asleep mumbling. No concern there.
There’s
a disconnect between my brain and mouth. Am I experiencing a stroke? I almost
fall, flailing my arms into the air, having no control. I make a very conscious
effort to walk, holding on for dear life to anything nearby, I make a long
reach to grab my husbands’ walker, and have that collapsing feeling three more times
in that short bathroom trip. Again I
almost black out as I miss the in between of standing up to a lowered bent
posture, even though I’m holding tight to the walker. It feels like my body is
collapsing with no warning, like a loose puppet without anyone guiding my movement.
My body has absolutely no connection to my brain. I feel I can’t talk right nor
think coherently. I realize how blessed I’ve been by not having any scary worries
with my health. And this is from ONE gummy! My heavens, what if I had taken
two.
“How
are you feeling now?” My sweetheart asks, from his half-awake state.
“I
am feeling weird.” Those are not the words my mouth got out. I realize I just
spoke baby talk.
And
my sleepy sweetheart is in dreamland again. I continue to talk to him anyway,
I’m sure I am not making any sense although I am desperately trying.
Am
I dying, I try to evaluate how I feel throughout my shaking body? My A-fib is
acting up and my heart is continuing to go over 100, racing, fluctuating
crazily. I am sickeningly shaky all through my body and think what if I was a
street person or anybody at a party, I would not be functioning at all. I won’t
even think about being under the influence of just one gummy and feeling like this
and attempting to drive a car, God forbid.
My
mouth and tongue are so dry I may be desiccated and have no more moisture in
me….solid thinking here.
My
stomach doesn’t feel well. The room is different, but I can’t figure out why or
what makes it different. I look at my clock and see red, then suddenly shut my
eyes to see a blue imprint. That’s precisely the opposite of what it is. Blue
when I look at it, under normal situations. Changing color usually takes time
to stare then close my eyes to see the opposite color. This is different. I
wouldn’t be surprised if I see a Cheshire Cat for real.
I
can’t get comfortable and babble nonstop to my husband, who answered me once
before falling asleep again. For the next two hours I am High. I hate the
feeling, and still think I’m dying or suffering a stroke or something. My mind creates
some clever ideas and my voice bursts from my mouth like a child’s two-word nonsensical
sentence. Serious as can be, I try to think properly. Gee, do I have a brain
aneurism? Is this a stroke? I keep repeating this thought.
I
touch my nose with my finger. Whee, that worked, but I knew it wouldn’t if I
didn’t have a big nose fully hanging out front there in easy reach. Then I make
a circle with my tongue, next put it side to side, up straight. Left down and
right up. That isn’t working. OMG, I fail. I feel numb. I’m worried. This is
awful.
So, I use all my muster and meditate, trying to remember how to relax and breath evenly, am I relaxing now? NO! My eyes are open and I am worried.
Well, I struggle to shut my eyes anyway pray like a frightened sinner man begging for help. I finally fall
asleep.
This
trip to a very strange place ebbs.
I
wake up thankful and appreciate my regular life. We throw away the gummies and
carry on with our day. And I pray a great big thanks for being back to the real
me.
