Loving life

Loving my son, Sean

Born early—at seven months

Lungs not fully formed

Breathing in, breathing out

Barely hanging on.

But love lingers and life continues

and grows with the voices and prayer of his mother,

and many around him, who love and cherish him, and want him in this world.

Voices known and unknown—all loving my baby boy,

wishing and praying for his life.

And he listens and hangs on to the living—gasping, suffering,

Struggling to breathe and survive,

Not giving up—fulfilling the dreams and prayers of the universe, that is Love.

***

But, where are the prayers, the loving thoughts for the forgotten children

The ones left behind, the ones without mothers

And fathers and families to love them, and pray for them

And wish them health and happiness?

Where is their hope?  Where is their will to survive?

Gone, with the wind and the ashes of an extinguished fire; no spark remains.

***

The forgotten children do not exist in this world devoid of conscience

They do not disturb their earthly mothers or their fathers or their families at all.

They fly, away from an unloved existence, the moment they arrive in a hostile place called earth.

They leave this place of indifference and death

To wake up in a glorious kingdom—singing and dancing like wildflowers

Existing in a world

We can only imagine

A world where forgotten children find Mothers and Fathers

And are called by their names.

Yes, the forgotten children, the unwanted children of earth now live in

A world where Love is supreme

And death is no more.

Listen to them singing.

Watch as they dance, swaying in the breeze, dressed in all the colors of the rainbow.

Listen, to their Language of Love.

Listen, to the wildflowers.
