Through the Darkness Lightly

Thread Lightly through the darkness
Lest you stumble and fall

Walk silently through tears
And cover your sorrow

Believe that this is momentary
And there is hope

And you will survive
You will survive

The path is sightless and painful
As twigs whip you and roots tangle your feet

Trudge on and be not faint of heart
Life will not leave you and the light will shine before you

Light so bright that the darkness cannot take hold of you--
Soon you will be out of its grasp and the opening will be brilliant

You will be free, like a butterfly in full bloom and you will fly
To the glow and the scent of a new day.
