This intricate basket is woven using one continuous weaver, rather than a separate weaver for each row.  The weaving pattern along with the number of spokes (many!) creates the specific spiral pattern. This basket features the traditional Shaker cat's head bottom.  The sides are deep russet and natural.  Reed is hand-dyed and may fade if exposed to direct sunlight.  The basket is finished with light walnut tung oil. ©

This delicate basket has an ornamental band that uses a complex technique weaving three weavers at once, rather than the standard one.  Strips of cane form the decorative band, with diamonds which are formed using very fine round reed in dark brown. The tung oil finish is a very pale oak. ©

This small wicker bowl in reddish brown, dark brown, and natural reed is embellished with art beads.  A wicker basket is one which employs round reed for the vertical stakes rather than flat stakes.  The vertical stakes are then woven into a very sturdy rim. The diamond pattern is formed from using three weavers simultaneously rather than the more typical one.  Reed is hand-dyed and may fade if exposed to direct sunlight.  The basket is finished with clear tung oil. ©
